Finca Consuelo is located 9 hours drive north of Guatemala City on the Pan American Highway, in the region of Hoja Blanca, in the department of Huehuetenango.
Run by the Perez family, in its third generation, Ernesto Perez oversees production and daily operations. Aided by his father, Jorge, they implement many water and soil conservation methods that are very progressive for this remote and typically traditional area.
We were stunned by the elegance and vibrancy of this cup when we first tasted it. While retaining a flavour profile that is distinct to Huehuetenango, Consuelo's coffee has an acidity that is floral like some top Geishas or Yirgacheffe coffees from Ethiopia.
