Erwin Argueta - Guatemala

Erwin Argueta - Guatemala
Huehuetenango is home to some of the most complex, exquisite coffees in all of the Americas. Located in the north of Guatemala, against the Mexican border, the rugged landscape with steep mountains, red volcanic soil, and the mix of warm air from the flats of Mexico and cool air from the pacific ocean, create excellent growing conditions for specialty coffee.
Erwin’s coffees have placed in the Cup of Excellence in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024. This is a stunning achievement as Erwin is always one of very few small-scale producers entered into the competition. He is also one of only a few producers to enter washed-process, traditional varieties, not exotics.
We’re proud to have purchased a large percentage of his harvest from his farm, Finca Plan De La Vega, this year and will continue to do so as long as he’s willing to sell to us!
This lot of predominately Caturra and Bourbon selection is very clean and balanced, with notes of brown sugar, peach, and bakers chocolate.
